KHAIRPUR: A Review Meeting of Strengthening of Academic Facilities (SAF) Project funded by the Higher Education Commission was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Thursday, presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah. Speaking to the participants of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah said, this project will be beneficial for providing academic facilities to students and teachers of the University. Dr. Shah said, academic block, 200 Boys Hostel, main gate and extension of administration Bblock and date palm research institute (DPRI) will be constructed. V.C directed all the stakeholders to complete their construction work as per stipulated time along with quality work and speedy progress. There will be no compromise on quality of construction. Proper monitoring and evaluation system are being observed strictly in this project. Vice Chancellor also directed the representatives of construction firms and companies that no extension will be given in this project, and that they need to follow the time frame strictly. Vice Chancellor directed the Project Coordinator SAF not to avail holidays and engage himself on stringent monitoring over the project. Engr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, Project Coordinator SAF briefed the progress and status of the project. He said, the foundation work is in progress of the cited project and excavation work in underway. He briefed the Vice Chancellor that the activity plan and current status of the project will be shared with sponsoring/funding agency. He said, the project will be completed within the given time. Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Main Campus, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, media coordinator, and representatives of construction firms attended the review meeting.
