MIRPUR KHAS: About 80 kilomters of the 132-kilometre-long Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) has been completed and would be opened for traffic within a few days. An official of the National Highway Authority said that a major portion of the motorway, which is about 80 kilometers, is likely to be opened for traffic next week. The Super Highway Construction Operation and Rehabilitation Engineering Limited (SCORE), a subsidiary of the Frontier Works Organization, has been converting the existing Super Highway into Motorway. The project involves converting the existing 136-km-long 4-lane Karachi-Hyderabad Superhighway into Six-Lane Motorway, on build, operate, and transfer basis. The work on M-9 had commenced on August 7, 2015.
