LAHORE: Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that all Pakistani citizens will have to work together for the prosperity and well being of the country. In a statement released on Tuesday, he said it was not the right time for indulging in politics of disunity. “Pakistan shall progress with the unity of its people. “Individualism has damaged the country. We should adopt the trait of collectivism for the betterment of the country. It is unwise to politicise development projects. All these projects are meant for the benefit of all. We should move forward with these projects by working jointly so that the people can fully benefit from these initiatives,” he said. The chief minister said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government has always promoted norms of tolerance, civility and national unity because that was the only way to put Pakistan on the track of peace, development, and prosperity. “The PML-N has promoted a culture of public service that denounces corruption and promotes the policy of austerity to complete development projects in the lowest possible cost to the public exchequer,” he said. “Provision of relief to the people and improvement in the lives of low-income families is our mission and all available resources will be used for the completion of this task,” he said. “Even our opponents have agreed that there have been no complaints of corruption in our development projects worth billions of dollars implemented by the PML-N government. Many such projects are underway and several have been completed in a record period of time,” he said. The PML-N government has also promoted the culture of transparency in development projects, he said, “The people have been given relief due to the completion of different mega-projects. The masses are reaping the fruits of speedy development. Pakistan has made tremendous progress in different fields during the last four years due to the government’s economic policies,” he said. Separately, the chief minister has strongly condemned the attack on the vehicle of security forces in Harnai district of Balochistan. He has extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls and early recovery of the injured. He has paid tribute to the martyred security officials and said that these officials are a symbol of pride for the country. He said that those embracing martyrdom in the war against terrorism were heroes of the whole nation. He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs wouldn’t go to waste. The whole nation is united against the menace of terrorism and this solid commitment of Pakistani nation against terrorism cannot be shaken through coward acts, he added.
