LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have said that investigation of Panama leaks would prove to be the political death of corrupt rulers. The incumbent rulers were experts in deceiving the public, but their lies would be unveiled before the Supreme Court’s investigation commission, said prominent PTI leaders on Wednesday while addressing a ceremony orgnanised to pay tribute to the courage of PTI leaders Shabbir Sial and Malik Istiaq, who were jailed during the recent party movement against corruption. Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, PTI stalwarts Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Ejaz Chaudhry, Abdul Aleem Khan and Waleed Iqbal, PTI AJK Secretary General Ghulam Muhayyudin Dewan, MPAs Dr Nosheen Hamid and Sheenla Roth along with several party workers participated in the ceremony. Mehmoodur Rasheed on the occasion said all PTI workers were united under the leadership of Imran Khan and no party could contest with PTI in the political field. He said that Imran Khan was fighting an unprecedented war against corruption. “The matter has finally been taken over by the Supreme Court, which in itself is a victory of PTI’s principle stance,” he asserted. Chaudhry Sarwar said only indiscriminate investigation of Panama leaks would put the culprits behind bars, which was the main agenda of his party. He termed corruption as a cancer of the society, saying that its facilitators were enemies of the country. He was determined that the principle stance of PTI would win in the Supreme Court. Addressing the occasion, PTI Lahore President Waleed Iqbal said Nawaz Sharif was giving lame excuses only to delay the process of accountability, but all his tricks would eventually fail. Dewan Muhayyudin also criticised the pro-corruption stance of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Panama leaks case. Abdul Aleem Khan said that failed policies of corrupt rulers have led Pakistan to a verge of collapse. Shabbir Sial and Malik Ishtiaq, while addressing the gathering, thanked their party leadership for backing them and said that Imran Khan was the only person to lead the nation under prevailing circumstances.
