BAHAWALPUR: Under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Cholistan Package, the process for the allotment of land to bona fide people of Cholistan people is in its final stage. Under the package, over 22,600 people have submitted applications of which 15,200 were declared eligible. According to the Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Saqib Zafar, a list of eligible applicants has been displayed at the offices of the seven Union Councils of Cholistan situated in three districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar for inviting public objections. He said people had been directed to file their grievances against rejection of their applications by Tuesday. He added that the grievance committees would hear complaints and complete their task by February 15. He said that after the completion of this phase, balloting for allotment of land would be held.
