ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan denounced the federal government’s ban on film ‘Maalik’ as undemocratic and groundless. Imran commented two days after the Ministry of Information pledged to ban the screening of ‘Maalik’ and proclaimed it uncertified over undefined reasons. “Banning Maalik the movie will not blind people to the pervasive corruption in the ruling elite,” Imran tweeted. The central film censor board stated that the ban was imposed as per public complaint. While supporting the ban, Censor Board Chairman Mubashir Hasan said that the film portrayed a negative and anarchic image of Pakistan.
