ISLAMABAD: A notice has been served to model Ayyan Ali from Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday over an appeal seeking legal action against the model under the sections of money laundering. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) made the appeal in which it requested IHC to call off the Customs Court verdict and act against Ayyan Ali under the act of Anti-Money Laundering. Customs Judge had rejected the appeal on March 30. The model was arrested for being found with 506,800 USD cash at the Benazir International Airport last year in March as she was boarding for her flight to United Arab Emirates (UAE). The case resulted in model’s serious argument with the Interior Ministry. She was permitted by the Sindh High Court to travel abroad ordering the ministry to remove her name from the Exit Control List. On the delay in observance with high court’s verdict, the 22-year-old approached Supreme Court (SC) and Interior Minister had to remove her name on order of Supreme Court. After which, another plea was filed and her passport was taken in custody.
