RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Customs Court (RCC) on Thursday suspended the hearing of a currency smuggling case against model Ayyan Ali until further notice. Appeal was made to the court by Ayyan’s counsel Latif Khosa to adjourn the current hearing when RCC’s Judge Rana Aftab took over this case. Khosa told that Ayyan could not come to the hearing because of her unhealthy condition. Ayyan sent her medical certificate via Whatsapp, to which court expressed its displeasure. The court while putting off the hearing of the case for indefinite period upholds that petition filed by the accused seeking her release was pending with the Lahore High Court (LHC) and hearing could not be held. The next inquiry will take place after the record was acknowledged from high court.
