DIR: Educated youth is an asset of the nation and it is need of hour to establishing more educational institutions to give better education to youth, said Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan. “More such events are imperative to be organised to engage youth in positive activities”, Inayatullah Khan said while addressing the concluding ceremony of three-day ‘Dir Azadi Sports Mela’. The mela was organised jointly by the Dir district government and the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) concluded here on Wednesday after amusing visitors with various sports events and other attractions. Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan was chief guest while Pakistan People’s Party leader Najmud Din Khan, District Nazim Sahibzada Fasihullah, Operational Commander Brigadier Amir Yasin and SRSP RPO Noor Ajab Khan were also present on the occasion. Schoolchildren presented tableau at the concluding ceremony after the sports events ended. Inayatullah Khan announced that the campus of engineering would soon be established in Dir. He directed the district administration to allocate land for establishment of Islamic university. District Nazim Fasihullah said that district government had allocated budget for sports tournaments. He said district sports board was arranging several sports events. Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) official told the gathering that his organisation had spent Rs 945 million on infrastructure development and Rs 110 million on hydel projects.
