SRINAGAR: Indian forces’ shelling of teargas on the funeral of a teenaged boy in Srinagar injured over 30 people on Saturday. A day after he went missing, 16-year-old Qaiser Sofi, a resident of Shalimar, was found in an unconscious state. He took his last breath at around 10 pm last night at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar. Witnesses told media that Qaiser Sofi’s body was brought to his home in at around 7 am today. They added that mourners carrying the body were shouting pro-freedom slogans as they marched towards martyrs’ graveyard in Eidgah. Around 35 people, including two women, were injured by the Indian forces’ deployed in the area resorted to teargas shelling, triggering clashes. The injured were rushed to SMHS Hospital for treatment. Witnesses also claim that the Indian forces also fired teargas shells into the boy’s home. However, the mourners did manage to bury the boy in the martyrs’ graveyard.
