KARACHI: The second day of Fashion Pakistan Week, held at a local hotel, hosted not just members of the fashion, film and TV industry, but also some of our leading politicians and entrepreneurs like Sherry Rehman, Sharmila Faruqi and Nadeem Hussain. A total of six designers showcased their autumn/winter collections. Shehla Chatoor Shehla Chatoor’s collection was truly distinct with sequin trousers, brightly embellished tops, silk harem pants and tasselled jackets. The collection consisted of an off white and a cream colour palette mainly. With an East meets West fusion, Shehla rocked the show with voluminous skirts and ghagras. Quickly transcending into a gold, red, purple and black colour palette, the traditional bridal wear that Shehla showcased were the highlight of the show. FnKAsia Huma Adnan for *FnKAsia* never disappoints. Slaying the red carpet and the ramp always with very traditional yet modern wear, Huma displayed a collection encompassing a wide colour palette of bolds, brights and the subtle. Again, an East meets West approach was dominant with sequined angrakhas, off-shoulder balloon tops paired with palazzos, short velvet jackets with skirts and what not! It’s right when they say, “Variety is the spice of life.” FnKAsia truly stood out for a very marketable, wearable and practical collection. HEM *HEM* by Sumbal Asif was up next with their collection consisting of Eastern wear mainly, with heavyset bolero tops, knee-length shirts with draped duppatas, cotton tulip shalwars, velvet shawls and a variety of other Eastern wear. Deepak Perwani *Deepak Perwani* closed Day 2 with his autumn/winter collection titled Ishq. It was a very traditional collection consisting of lehngas, heavy velvet duppatas, chiffon turbans trails for menswear paired with lightly-embellished sherwanis. The esteemed couturier displayed a beautiful collection which was set in a wide colour palette of orange, silver, red, pink, green and gold. Natasha Kamal *Natasha Kamal* showcased her collection next with cutwork dominant throughout the carefully put together pieces. Consisting of a subtle colour palette with some monochrome pieces, Natasha was distinct in her approach. As the audience swayed and grooved to the upbeat medleys, Natasha’s collection transcended into pastel coloured maxis, mermaid lehngas and saris. Ayesha Khan and Gohar Rasheed showstopped for the designer. Arsalan Iqbal What a fabulous track to open to! Our very own menswear designer *Arsalan Iqbal* was next with a collection that comprised of a gold and black colour palette. We particularly liked the custom-made shoes and boots. A black and gold satin sari was a highlight outfit from the collection. Short coats, sherwanis and jackets for men and long dresses for women were displayed. Mohib Mirza showstopped for the designer.
