Sir: If we observe the political situation of our country, much of the politics is based on different ethnic or national groups, their footing is on dissension, and dissonance. It is fair to say that the current political situation of Pakistan is in dire need of substantial changes if we compare it to the political systems of leading nations in the world, to change the dynamics of our political system. In this case, media has to play a pivotal role for modifying the mindset of the nation but regrettably, it is noticed that politics has taken over almost all the institutions of Pakistan, media is no exception. The media is the most powerful entity of our country; it has power to make the guiltless guilty and to make the guilty guiltless. As media controls the minds of the masses we observe the contrary ideology of some section of the media, their agenda is to auction good, bad and ugly deeds of politicians; every night prime hour the politicians are invited along with their rivals to create commotion and hubbub on TV screens to confuse the already bewildered masses. The media has to play its positive role to resolve the issues rather than to care about the ratings of channels other we all are in perils. NASIR SOOMRO Hyderabad
