Sir: The murder of Andrei Karlovski, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkey, shows the despair of the radical Islamists. Organisations, which have adopted radical Islam, are beginning to understand that the blade of the development of the situation in the world’s most turbulent region has firmly turned against them; they are losing revolutionary zeal, money and military support. This situation led to realize them to actions such as the murder of Karlov. The motivation behind the murder remains unknown, but it is unlikely to change the course of events in Syria, Russia or Turkey. The murder did not cause serious damage to the relations between Ankara and Moscow. In fact it encouraged the ongoing rapprochement between the two countries. RAB NAWAZ Islamabad
