Sir: We all know that our traffic police is notorious for being lazy, irresponsible and arrogant. But a recent experience has forced me to change my point of view about the traffic police. A few weeks ago, I visited the beautiful valleys of Swat and Chitral. Starting from Peshawar to Kalash through Mardan, Swat, Dir, Chitral and other small settlements, I was highly impressed with the way the local traffic police was managing all the traffic whether it was rush hour or not. They were performing their duties with such passion and enthusiasm that I had not seen in my entire life. Being a tourist, I sought guidance from them and I was impressed by the way they guided me. Not only in these areas, but also in other cities all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, this significant change in the behaviour of the traffic police was noticeable. This improvement in the working of the traffic police is commendable. OWAIS BIN ASAD Via Email
