UPPER DIR: All class four employees of the District Headquarters Hospital of Dir went on strike for indefinite period against government’s failure to grant professional health allowance. The class four employees including technicians, store keepers and others refused to work and erect a strike camp in the DHQ. They also organized a protest demonstration which was addressed by class four association district’s president of Upper Dir, Zahir Shah, Tahseenullah, Sher Zada and others said that the provincial government had adopted a discriminative attitude with class four employees. They said that the provincial government had approved professional health allowance to doctors, paramedic and nurses. As part of health department they also had the equal right of granting to them the health professional allowance. They said for that purpose their provincial chapter had organised a protest in Peshawar the previous year in which thousands of class four employees across the province had participated. Zahir Shah said that the provincial government had sent its representative, the provincial minister for finance, Muzzafar Said Advocate, and he had promised the provincial government would soon grant them the health professional allowance too like it had approved for doctors, paramedics and nurses. He said that after the successful negotiation they had ended their demonstration in Peshawar. Shah said that after the passage of the almost one year and the provincial government had not fulfilled it promised. He said that the provincial government was also adopting delay tactics or completely forgetting its promise which it had promised with them the previous year. “The KP government are presenting with us with discriminative manner and deprived us from our due right,” said Zahir Shah and threatened that thousands of class four employees of the KP would once again went out for strike and demonstration and will march toward Peshawar if their demands were not met soon. They demonstrators also marched from DHQ hospital to Deputy Commissioner’s office. Paramedics of KMC stage protest till fulfillment of demands: The Para-medical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Medical College called to stage protest on Friday for the achievement of Health Professional Allowance at Peshawar. The President Para-medical Association and Coordination Council Sami Ullah said that the protest will continue till the fulfillment of the demands from the Provincial government. He addressed to the protest in which General Secretary of Clerks association Abid Khan was also present. He said we will Protest till the Pakistan Tahrik Insaf led Provincial Government stops making changes in the Health Professional Allowance. He added that it would not be acceptable to convert the CB funds and GB funds. He added that despite of the continuous claims from the Provincial Health Department the demands remained in the core of paper and didn’t have relief. if demands were not meet they would stage Protest in front of Provincial Assembly from Monday to Thursday in order to inform the high ups of the province, he added.
