Gang of obscene moviemakers busted

MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have busted a gang of criminals involved in making obscene videos of well off people to blackmail them.

“We have arrested three gangsters involved in blackmailing people after making their videos with female members of the gang,” Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon, deputy superintendent of police told reporters on Friday.

He said that police launched an investigation on the complaints of local trader Muhammad Naseer and arrested three accused.

The official said that gangsters through female partner had called Nasser to a house and after making his obscene video they started demanding one million rupees.

The gang members threatened to upload the video to social media if the victim contacted the police.

He said the police was following multipronged strategy to trace the people involved in the heinous crime.

Jangalkhel people protest against police raids, search operation: The residents of Jangalkhel area on Friday staged protest against the police raids and search operations in the area.

Carrying banners and placards, the residents of Jangalkhel area blocked the Peshawar-Kohat road for traffic for one hour.

Speaking on the occasion, they said the cops forced their entry into the houses without any search warrant and harassed women.

They asked the provincial police chief to take note of the issue or else a protest campaign would be launched.

The protesters dispersed peacefully after being assured by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Rashid Khan to look into the matter and resolve the issue.

Adminstration releases six detainees arrested in petty crimes: The Political Administration Landi Kotal on Friday released six detainees arrested in petty cases.

The Assistant Political Agent (APA) Landi Kotal Rahim Mehsud flanked by the tehsildar Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand on his visit to the lock up issued order of release of six prisoners who had been arrested in minor cases.

Prior to it the APA held Open Court inside the premises of the Landi Kotal prison and dealt with 39 cases of the detainees. The local administration top official examined thoroughly the cases and issued forthwith directions on the spot for its disposal.
