ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director, Abdul Ghafoor, said on Wednesday that the PTDC had declared 2017 the “Year of Yourism” as it would launch projects for the industry’s revival. The corporation, he said, was committed for the development of the tourism sector in the country, and that was the reason it was trying to provide maximum facilities at tourist resorts. Abdul Ghafoor said a number of projects launched by the PTDC were nearing completion. The under construction projects in Gwadar, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Sindh would help revive the tourism sector, he added. He said the projects in AJK would be completed at a cost of Rs 25 million, while the tourist facilitation centre in Gilgit-Baltistan would cost Rs 20 million.
