Army chief vows to go to any length for a terror-free Karachi

KARACHI – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has lauded the efforts of intelligence and law enforcement agencies for making Karachi peaceful city and vowed to go to any length for a secure and terror-free Karachi.

Chairing a review meeting on the ongoing operation in Karachi, General Raheel was briefed on the continuing intelligence-based operations in the metropolis. Expressing his satisfaction over the operation, he appreciated the paramilitary Rangers and other law enforcement agencies for improving the city’s security situation.

“The COAS vowed to go to any length for a secure and terror free Karachi to ensure a peaceful and fearless routine daily life for people of Karachi,” the Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Asim Bajwa said.

The Army chief commended the intelligence agencies for achieving major breakthroughs in unearthing various terrorist networks in their bid to dismantle terror infrastructure and sever their linkages with terrorist cells outside Karachi.

The meeting was attended by Karachi Corps Commander, Inter-Services Intelligence director general, Military Intelligence director general and DG Rangers.
