Swat police arrest two facilitators in child sex, pornography case

Published on: May 12, 2016 10:23 AM

MINGORA: The local police arrested two more members of a gang involved in child sex and pornography case, senior government officials confirmed.

Station House Officer (SHO) Akhtar Ayub said that the police had traced and captured a key member of the gang named Aurangzeb, whose interrogation further enabled the arrests of two alleged facilitators in the case, identified as Sajjad and Umar Khaliq.

“We have also recovered weapons from the accused and the vehicle which was used in kidnapping (of children),” he said. The gang allegedly used to kidnap children and force them to have sex while being filmed in their underground cells.

The police found about this gang when they received a tip-off by a 13-year-old boy who had been kidnapped and abused by the gang in 2014 and has been set free recently. The boy informed the police that even some policemen were involved with the gang and kept them safe from raids and also abused children themselves.

One of the locals, named Sherin Zada, also came forward with hundreds of photos and videos as proof of the crime. He told the journalists that his nephew was also kidnapped by the same gang and has still not been released.

Forming a joint investigation team led by deputy superintendent of police, District Police Officer Saleem Marwat ordered investigation into the matter.
