MoU singed to launch green stores concept

Published on: June 28, 2016 6:04 PM

LAHORE: A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Premier Energy Private Limited and Chenab Group at Chen One’s DHA store on Tuesday.

Both the Premier Group and the Chen One have successfully been in collaboration since 2014 for home products division and with this new venture, business ties are expected to strengthen further. To begin with, the Premier Energy has converted all the operations of Chen One’s DHA branch on solar energy through installation of Grid Tied Solar Power Plant.

Under the agreement, the Premier Energy would be converting multiple stores of the Chen One on solar, entitling Chen One as the first largest chain of green stores in Pakistan. Moreover, this MoU shall also facilitate the sharing of best practices, human resource and ideas to promote the use of renewable energy resources in Pakistan.

On the occasion, Chenab Group CEO Mian Muhammed Kashif Ashfaq also agreed to be a part of the Green Brigade, a non-commercial initiative by the Premier Energy to bring together eminent personalities from diverse set of fields to promote green energy. “We at Chen One believe renewable energy resources to be the optimal solution for all energy problems,” Ashfaq said.

“We support Premier Energy in their efforts to revolutionise the energy consumption patterns and bring back the revival of the industrial sector. With this MoU, I also feel honoured to be a part of the Green Brigade, which is an excellent and commendable initiative by the Premier Team for the promotion of renewable energy,” he said.

“We have enjoyed the journey of collaboration with Chen One and we certainly look forward to continue strengthening this understanding,” said Shokat Mobarik, CEO of the Premier Group, while addressing the media partners. He said that it was always good to see industrialists and business personalities like Mian Kashif Ashfaq to support the concept of green energy.

“The installation of Grid Tied Solar Power Plant at DHA branch is just the first step and we look forward to entitle Chenab Group as Pakistan’s first green energy based chain of stores,” he said. This memorandum of understanding is expected to mutually benefit both the partners involved by combining the customer base, sharing ideas, co-branding and promoting the use of renewable energy resources.
