PAKISTAN CONFIRMS 416 DENGUE CASES IN 2020!

Published on: March 26, 2020 2:04 AM

After the long winters, Pakistan’s weather has finally started to become warmer. There are also predictions of rainfall in certain parts of the country. With this change in weather, we are soon to experience an influx of mosquitos. We all know mosquitos translate to the fatal mosquito borne illness – Dengue! In 2020, the country already has 416 confirmed cases.

Remembering the horrid headlines that confirmed 54,000 dengue cases in 2019 and the stories we heard, Mortein has recently launched their TVC in order to continue its fight against this on-going illness which runs rampant in Pakistan especially during the hot season. Shan Shahid, a leading actor in the commercial, plays the part of a detective who is fed up with the disease spreading at an unfathomable rate.

As we know, dengue fever is very common in Pakistan and has infected adults and children alike. The first time around, the infected person can recover. However, the second time around this mosquito borne disease can prove to be fatal. In order to combat the illness and spread awareness of its effects on the world, Mortein continues to take active measures to protect people from the dengue virus.

With the pandemic already at hand, it has become all the more important for us to make sure we are taking all preventive measures to fight both the illnesses. Which means keeping our house protected 24/7 via Mortein, because unlike popular belief, the dengue mosquito can bite any time during the day. The brand offers anti-dengue kits and aerosol sprays that prove to be very effective to kill mosquitos.

As the corona pandemic looms over our heads and dengue season begins, it is so important for us to be cognizant of our surrounding and our lifestyle while ensuring extra care is taken to protect ourselves from both illnesses. Spread awareness and educate all those around you, only with prevention can we all be protected.
