Usman Buzdar, Jam Kamal discusses prospects of extended cooperation

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed various matters of mutual interest as well as the expansion of bilateral cooperation in different sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar said that development of Balochistan is dear to us as like Punjab. He added that the best possible cooperation will be extended in different fields including IT, tourism, horticulture, education and healthcare because the development of Balochistan is, in fact, the development of the country. He pointed out that special quota has been reserved in the educational institutions of Punjab for the students belonging to Balochistan. Punjab government will also set up the cardiac hospital in Balochistan and two billion rupees have been allocated for this purpose, he said. The chief minister reiterated that Punjab will not lag behind in serving the brethren of Balochistan. He informed that funds have been provided to restore the original condition of the mausoleum of Mir Chakar Azam Rind in Okara. This has given a message of good gesture to the people of Balochistan and link roads of the mausoleum will also be repaired on priority basis, said Usman Buzdar. Similarly, bilateral cooperation will be extended in the tourism sector.

Jam Kamal extended an invitation to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to visit Balochistan and said that Punjab has given a lot of love and affection to him and both the provinces will move forward in the journey of development. While local tourism can help in strengthening of the national economy, the same was ignored by past governments. We are grateful to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for restoration work of tomb of Mir Chakar Azam Rind, he added. DG Walled City of Lahore Authority gave a briefing about the restoration work of the mausoleum. Provincial ministers Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Jehanzeb Khichi, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, M. Hashim Dogar, Husnain Bahadur Dreshak, Samiullah Ch. as well as provincial ministers of Balochistan including Naseebullah Khan Marri, Noor Muhammad, Aziz Ahmad Jamali, Muhammad Umar Khan Jamali along with principal secretaries of both the chief ministers were present on the occasion.

Qatari envoy: Ambassador of Qatar Mr. Saqr Bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office on Tuesday. During the meeting, various matters of mutual interest were discussed and the ambassador of Qatar expressed interest in investment in agriculture, livestock and housing sectors. Usman Buzdar said that Punjab has been developed as an ideal province for investment and special incentives were being given to the foreign investors. The Qatari investors can take benefit of various facilities in special economic zones being set up in Punjab province, he added. He said that Punjab is an agricultural province where strong prospects of investments are available. Our doors are always open to the Qatari investors and all the facilities have been provided under one roof, added the chief minister. While showing interest in investment in agriculture, livestock and housing sectors, the Qatari ambassador added that opportunities of investment will be benefited. Similarly, cooperation will be continued for social sector development, he added and extended an invitation to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to visit Qatar. CEO PBIT, Principal Secretary to CM and others were also present on this occasion.

US consul general: The US Consul General Ms Catherine Rodriguez called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office on Tuesday and discussed various matters of mutual interest. Usman Buzdar apprised the US Consul General about ongoing public welfare programs adding that Pakistan-US relations span over many decades. New Pakistan was being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and hard work is the only agenda of the PTI government, he said. He pointed out that the Punjab government was giving special attention to the development of backward areas and work was being continued on major public welfare projects in southern Punjab.

Meanwhile, pioneering steps have been introduced to promote tourism. Baba Guru Nanak University is being made in Nankana Sahib District and speedy steps are being taken to open the historic Kartarpur Corridor, he added. Usman Buzdar further said that religious monitories are fully safe and independent in Pakistan and the government regularly renovates religious places of the minorities. He added that cooperation will be expanded with the US for the development of the social sector. US Consul General said that collaboration will be increased with the Punjab government for social sector development. Chief Secretary, ACS (Home), secretary P&D, CEO PBIT and others were present on this occasion.
