Patience is a virtue

Published on: February 10, 2019 1:14 AM

Lost in deep thought was sitting a boy named Munaj. He was sad for a reason unknown. He used to talk to himself only. Whenever his parents went to him, he was silent. When he was alone, he talked. People considered him mad and he was glad for the inclusion in the world of madness. He was often found in repeating one sentence to himself time and time again, “Where have you gone?”

Yahya was his cousin who was very close to him. He felt very bad for the sudden change in Munaj’s behaviour. He wanted to help him but he could not since he was unaware of what actually had happened to Munaj. He tried a lot to ask Munaj for it but he was lost in his thoughts and only quoted the same sentence over and over again. But Yahya was never going to give up until he knew the complete story. A point came that Munaj was compelled to share the secret behind his strange behaviour.

“Yahya, you know that I have no little sister despite waiting for several years neither could my parents fulfil this sole wish of mine. And with the passage of time, I accepted my fate,” he told Yahya with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Yahya tried to console him, “Yeah, my bosom pal, everything is written by Allah and He Himself decides whom to give what. We have to compromise with everything.” Yahya asked for further explanation.

“Yahya, I saw a dream just a week ago,” Munaj paused after mentioning this.

“What! What kind of a dream did you see,” Yahya asked him.

He stammered and continued, “I saw that a little girl…,” and stopped.

Yahya pushed him to go ahead.

“She said that she was sent by Allah as a gift. She would be with me for the rest of my life but….,” Munaj stopped mid-sentence again.

Yahya got the complete picture.

“Yahya, where did she go? Why hasn’t she come after that dream? I want to talk to her, sit with her, laugh with her, care for her, smile with her each day, make her my little princess, bring things for her and love her very much. Tell her to come,” Munaj seemed to plead.

Yahya hugged him and asked him to wait because he knew in his heart somehow that Allah would grant Munaj his wish.

“There is something great to come in your life, Munni. Keep patience and believe in Allah. He will make everything fine soon,” Yahya explained to Munaj.

After two weeks, when Munaj was sitting in his room, his mother came and hugged him. He became dumbstruck and asked about it.

“My dear, congratulations! I am pregnant and doctor said that I have a baby girl in my belly,” his mother told him. Munaj jumped on hearing this and celebrated the news with spirit.

He went over to Yahya directly and shared the happy news with him. Yahya had already known that Munaj was going to get his little angel soon in either way. Because he knew that Munaj’s life without his “angel” was almost impossible. They both thanked Allah for the greatest gift in Munaj’s life ever and waited for the arrival of the little angel with great pleasure.
