Nation building & Politics!

Published on: January 11, 2019 1:46 AM

There may be many political parties in Pakistan, some with the representation in both upper and lower house but Pakistani politics is now a tripartite game. Their alliances are not for the national interest but for the interest of their political leadership. Pakistanis as its citizens need to understand that politics is not to be personified but it should work in the interest of its nationals.

PPP, plays the Sindh Card, brainwashing covertly that Punjab is stealing their water, resources and want to make them a second class citizens in Pakistan. PML-N believes in the hegemony of Punjab, but serving as big brother has destroyed the local economy, yet creating animosity amongst the other provinces. KPK for almost a decade has been left at disposal of PTI, who tend to make everyone believe all are corrupt except the pious Sufi follower, our Prime Minister Imran Khan. Pashtuns are left with thinking that we all are extremists or terrorists? Balouchs have been ignored to the extent that some have become hostile towards the state. MQM once dominated the financial backbone of Pakistan, Karachi. They still cry as being suppressed as they speak the national language of Pakistan ‘Urdu”. Nonetheless, these parties haven’t  groomed the nation into becoming foremost a Pakistani.

Parliamentarians defend the wrong and right of their leadership, that’s the political morality and the ethics of people we vote for! The people who we have hope to change our livelihood, the future of our generations and most importantly the stature as a nation.

We need to understand that politics should be discussed, argued, agreed and disagreed over, but not on the cost of nation building! Not at the cost of us as Pakistanis

I feel pity at our parliamentarians, they all know that some of actions of their leadership are towards financial and moral corruption, but its difficult to prove in a court of law, so be it! They shall go to all extents to support their leadership. The ethos of politics in Pakistan is all based on defending their political leadership. They change political parties, their political stance changes, but one thing doesn’t change that is the way they defend their new leadership. This political thought process has damaged Pakistan. We are lost as a nation because none of the political and military dictators have built us into a nation. Musharraf supported MQM, knowing the intelligence reports he had with himself about the alleged relationship with RAW.  He supported MQM, (defenders of Urdu Speakers, which all Pakistanis generally speak as a language) and came with a stance of “sab se pehle Pakistan” (Pakistan First).  That Pakistan became second when he violated the constitution and allied himself with an allegedly (RAW) funded political party, only to defend his Presidential status.

We need to understand that politics should be discussed, argued, agreed and disagreed over, but not on the cost of nation building! Not at the cost of us as Pakistanis.
