Defending champions India won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh in the final of Asia Cup 2018 at Dubai international Cricket Stadium.
India is locking-horns with two-time runner-ups Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2018 final to decide who will reign as the continent’s cricket king.
India eased past all of its opponents but Afghanistan in the Asia Cup to qualify for the final. The blue-team beat Hong Kong and Pakistan in the group stages, while it beat Bangladesh and Pakistan in the Super Four and drew with Afghanistan.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, suffered defeated Pakistan in a do-or-die fixture at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to qualify for the final.
The two teams also faced each other in 2016 T20I edition of the Asia Cup, which India comfortably won by 8 wickets and 7 balls to spare.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 120/5 in the allotted 15 overs, which were reduced due to rain. India chased it down with ease.
In total, India has won the tournament 6 times, including the T20I edition, while Bangladesh have ended up as runner-ups in two editions; one in 2012 against Pakistan and the other in the 2016 T20I edition.
India will be back to full-capacity after playing a few reserves against Afghanistan, while Bangladesh is also expected to play the same line-up it used against Pakistan.
