Real Mardrid midfielder Luka Modric was made the UEFA Player of the Year award 2018 on Thursday, but it seems like Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is not pleased with the decision.
“It’s ridiculous, shameful. The winner is not in doubt, as Ronaldo is the best in his position. Football is played on the field and that’s where Cristiano won,” Jorge Mendes said showing his disappointment over Modric winning the award.
Mendes added that his client Ronaldo scored 15 goals in the champions league, carried Real Madrid on his back and won them a third-consecutive UCL, but still was not awarded the UEFA prize and that, according to him, is “shameful”.
Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus this summer at a fee of 100 million euros, much to the shock of many football fans around the world.
