Boy poisoned to death

Gujranwala: A 17 year old boy was allegedly poisoned to death by unidentified people at Ali Pur Chatha, Gujranwala.

It was reported that Faizan aged 17 years old was spotted unconscious in the field and was rushed to the DHQ hospital where he died. His family alleged that someone poisoned Faizan which caused his death. Police has started investigations.

Candidates submit nomination papers for upcoming elections

PML(N) leader and former foreign minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan filed his nomination papers for NA-81, former federal law minister Mehmood Bashir Virk for NA80 , former federal minister for housing , Barrister Usman Ibrahim for NA82 and Taoufeeq Butt filed nomination papers for PP-56 Gujranwala. Meanwhile Mian Tariq filed his nomination papers from Pakistan-Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for NA-80, Mian Mazhar for PP 62 and Ch. Jamal Nasir Cheema filed nomination papers for PP 53 Gujranwala.

From Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Irshad Ullah Sandhu and Rao Ikram filed their nomination papers for NA-80 and NA 81. Chairman Tehrek-e-Labaik Dr. Ashraf Asif Jalali filed his nomination papers for NA-81 and NA-82 Gujranwala.

Stamp vendor arrested for fraud

Anti corruption team arrested a suspected offender stamp vendor involved in fraud case on Monday.

Regional Director Fareed Ahmed said that a women Tahmina widow of Nasrullah Butt gave application to anti corruption that her husband had died some years before and he left property worth millions of rupees. The property included agricultural land, residential land and commercial buildings.

Tahmina alleged that her husband’s brothers Zafar Ullah Butt and Asad Ullah Butt, with the collaboration of a stamp vendor called Muhammad Asif, forged a property purchase deed and filed a writ petition in the court stating that they had purchased all the property of late Nasrullah Butt.

During the inspection fraud of the accused got proven. A case was registered a case against the accused for trying to deprive widow and her daughter from the property of late Nasrullah Butt.

The stamp vendor Asif was declared a proclaimed offender by the anti corruption team and a raiding party arrested Muhammad Asif on Monday.

Murder suspect arrested

Suspects involved in the murder of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police during a robbery were traced by the CIA police within 48 hours of the incident.

DSP Imran Abbas Chadhar while talking to the media told that the accused Shakeel Shah resident of Qilla Chand, along with his companion intercepted ASI Aslam Bhinder and his wife in Emanbad area and tried to snatch cash and gold ornaments.

According to the DSP, when the ASI tried to resist, the suspects opened fire on him. As a result Aslam Bhinder died on the spot while his wife got injured.

DSP Imran Abbas Chahdar told that on the directions of CPO Ashfaq CIA team comprising upon DSP Imran Abbas Chadhar, sub inspector Tahir Watto, ASI Bilal Ahmed and ASI Rashid Iqbal started investigations and just within 48 hours of the incident, they traced out Shakeel Shah, the suspect.

The DSP informed that the accused Shakeel Shah had already confessed his crime. He added that raids for arrest of the other suspect were underway.
