LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to launch a free shuttle service to facilitate cricket lovers on the occasion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final.
The service will start at 1 pm today (Sunday). Free shuttle service would provide travelling facility to cricket lovers from chosen places to the stadium.
Meanwhile, around 200 students from across Pakistan have been invited by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to watch the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final today (Sunday) at Gaddafi Stadium
The chief minister has invited students from Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to watch the final match as special guests of the chief minister.
“The match is a national event and the Punjab government has strengthened national unity by inviting students from other provinces,” a statement quoted the chief minister as saying. “This step of the Punjab government will promote national unity, brotherhood and interprovincial harmony,” said the statement.
The chief minister has also invited students from Danish schools, PEEF scholars, best education administrators and health professionals to watch the match. “On my invitation, 25 PEEF scholars would also watch the final match. Besides this, eight best education administrators have been invited to watch the match.
Similarly, 12 best health professionals would watch final match on the invitation of the chief minister. They included principals, surgeons, professors, vice chancellors, doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.
Separately, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Governor Ghazanfar Ali Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the GB governor welcomed the decision of holding the PSL final in Lahore and said that a best decision had been taken according to wishes of the nation.
In his remarks, the chief minister said that the PSL final is a national event and would, therefore, be made memorable.
“It is also a strong message to terrorists that they cannot weaken the commitment of our brave nation with their nefarious activities,” he added. Member Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly Begum Rani Ghazanfar was also present on the occasion.
