KHAIRPUR: At least four children were recovered by Khairpur police on Sunday from bonded labour at brick kilns in the district of Khairpur.
Reportedly, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had issued directives to the law enforcement agencies regarding the rights of brick kiln workers and imposed ban on child labour.
Consequently, the police officers raided 65 brick kilns operating in the region and recovered four children including Asghar Noonari, Yousuf Gopang, Asif Rind and Maqsood Shar, who were forced into labour at the brick kiln of Dost Muhammad Pathan. Meanwhile, the police lodged a case against the owner and arrested him.
