Time for political point-scoring over, says Saad Rafique

Published on: May 6, 2018 8:24 PM

LAHORE: Railways Minister Saad Rafique on Sunday said that the time for political point-scoring has ended and that now is the time to compete in the elections 2018.

“We have worked hard throughout our tenure, and now is the time for results. I advice the rival politicians to put an end to political point-scoring and prepare for the battle in the upcoming elections,” Saad Rafique said while speaking to workers convention in Lahore.

Turning his attention towards Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Saad Rafique said that Imran should announce which constituency he has selected to contest elections from, so the PML-N could also make a move.

He continued that the caretaker government will administer the country for a period of 61 days and then, the elections will be held. However, he claimed, that the PTI chief wants to delay the elections by 1 and a half months and that Khan should “refrain from misdirecting the public.”

The lawmaker continued that the political campaigning for the elections has kick-started and that the rivals “would try their best to make PML-N workers turn to violent ways,” but, he added, “PML-N is a party with principles and will continue to act with honour, dignity and respect.”
