LAHORE: Pakistan national cricket batsman Babar Azam clinched top spot in International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty-20 International (T20I) rankings for batsman on Monday.
Babar, who averages over 48 runs-per-match in T20Is, saw a rise in his ranking after decisive performances against New Zealand in the shorter format of the game.
In the T20I series against the Kiwis, Azam scored 41 runs of 41 balls in the first fixture, while he scored a quick fire 50 of 29 balls to help Pakistan defeat the hosts in the second match between the two teams.
Imad Wasim, who did not feature in the series against NZ, bagged seventh position in the T20I rankings for bowlers, while Shadab Khan sits at fourteenth.
