Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan register victories at CAVA Championship

The CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship continued at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, with exciting action on the third day as Pakistan secured their third consecutive victory by defeating Nepal 3-0, while Bangladesh edged past Kazakhstan in a thrilling five-set encounter.

In the opening match of the day, Uzbekistan defeated Sri Lanka 3-1 to make a winning start. The second match witnessed a closely fought battle between Bangladesh and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan won the opening set 25-20, but Bangladesh bounced back strongly to take the second and third sets 25-21 and 25-23 respectively. Kazakhstan refused to give up and levelled the match by winning the fourth set 25-21, forcing the contest into a decisive fifth set. Bangladesh held their nerve in the final set to win 15-12 and seal a thrilling 3-2 victory.

In the third match, Pakistan produced a dominant performance against Nepal, winning all three sets 25-14, 25-18 and 25-10. The victory marked Pakistan’s third successive win in the championship and further strengthened their position on the points table. The impressive performance by the national team was warmly applauded by the home crowd, with the Liaquat Gymnasium echoing with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” as fans celebrated Pakistan’s convincing victory.
