Monsoon rains have raised water levels in several rivers across Punjab, with low-level flooding reported at Tarbela, Kalabagh, and Chashma along the Indus River. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), river flows remained largely stable during the past 24 hours despite continued monsoon activity. Officials said the situation is being monitored closely as rainfall continues in different parts of the country.

The PDMA reported that water flow at Tarbela reached 342,000 cusecs, while Kalabagh recorded 309,000 cusecs and Chashma 293,000 cusecs. Although water levels remain elevated, authorities said conditions have not worsened over the past day. Monitoring teams continue to assess river conditions to respond promptly if the situation changes.
Meanwhile, the flood situation in the Chenab River has improved from high-level to medium-level flooding. Medium-level flooding was recorded at Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad, where water flows stood at 208,000, 165,000, and 190,000 cusecs, respectively. Officials attributed the improvement to reduced rainfall in the upper catchment areas, which helped stabilise water levels.

The PDMA also confirmed that water flows in the Jhelum and Sutlej rivers remained within normal limits. The Ravi River recorded a flow of 83,000 cusecs at Balloki, while water levels at Jassar, Shahdara, and Head Sidhani also stayed normal. However, medium-level flooding was reported in Nullah Basantar in Narowal and at Nullah One in Wazirabad, while low-level flooding continued near the Ara Cantt Bridge.
PDMA Director General Umar Abbas Mela said rainfall had stopped in the upper catchment areas of the Chenab River, helping maintain stable river flows over the last 24 hours. Authorities remain on alert as the monsoon season continues and have advised local administrations to closely monitor vulnerable areas. Residents living near rivers and streams have also been urged to stay informed and follow official safety advisories.
