Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) here on Thursday launched a comprehensive safety campaign in walled city.
A detailed structural survey of historical and residential buildings in walled city has been completed.
According to Walled City Authority, a total of 254 dangerous buildings were identified during the survey, 101 dangerous buildings were declared repairable, and notices for immediate repair were issued to the owners.
While, 105 dangerous buildings were evacuated, and safety measures were intensified before the monsoon. As many as 48 extremely dangerous buildings were declared to be demolished or demolished.
Instructions were issued to the building owners to immediately repair or evacuate the building. Continuous monitoring of dangerous buildings was underway to protect the lives and property of citizens. Directions were given to ensure timely cleaning of roofs, drains, gutters and downpipes, it added.
