Pakistan has sufficient petroleum reserves to meet domestic demand, the National Coordination and Management Council (NCMC) said on Thursday. The council reviewed fuel availability and assured that supplies remain stable across the country. The announcement aims to address concerns over possible petroleum shortages.
During the NCMC meeting, officials were briefed that petroleum stocks were adequate to fulfil current requirements. Representatives from the petroleum ministry, Oil Companies Advisory Council, OGRA, FBR Customs, and other relevant institutions attended the session.

The council said concerns emerged after an unusual increase in petroleum product sales during the first 15 days of July. Officials reviewed the situation and resolved supply-related issues. They confirmed that existing reserves were enough to maintain smooth availability.
According to the NCMC, OGRA’s analysis identified concerns about possible hoarding due to expectations of future price increases. The regulator was directed to take effective action against illegal stockpiling. Authorities were instructed to ensure fair availability of petroleum products.
