Ukraine’s air defence forces have intercepted five Russian ballistic missiles in a single night, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. The successful operation comes as Kyiv continues efforts to strengthen its defence systems against ongoing Russian missile attacks.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command said the missiles were destroyed over central and western regions of the country. Officials reported no casualties or major damage from the latest missile barrage, marking a significant success for Ukraine’s air defence units.

The interception comes as Ukraine intensifies efforts to improve its air defence network with support from Western allies. Kyiv has received additional systems and missile supplies from the United States and European partners to counter Russian ballistic and cruise missile threats.
Military analysts said Russia has increased its use of ballistic missiles in recent months to challenge Ukraine’s defensive capabilities. However, Ukrainian officials said advanced systems, including Patriot and other Western-provided platforms, have improved their ability to detect and intercept incoming attacks.
