Four more militants killed in Balochistan operation

Published on: July 13, 2026 12:17 PM

Security forces have killed four more militants during Operation Shaban in Balochistan, according to security sources, as the ongoing campaign against militant groups continues across the province.

The joint operation is being carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and police in multiple areas to target suspected militant hideouts. Officials said the latest action increased the number of militants killed during Operation Shaban to 71, while the total number of militants killed in the province since July 5 has reached 109, according to security sources.

Authorities said operations are continuing in difficult terrain, with security personnel conducting intelligence-based searches and targeted actions aimed at dismantling militant networks and preventing further attacks. Officials have reiterated that operations will continue until security objectives are achieved.

Meanwhile, protests by the families of police personnel killed in the recent terrorist attack in Ziarat are continuing in Quetta and Ziarat. Demonstrators have maintained sit-ins despite multiple rounds of talks with a government delegation.

According to reports, negotiations have failed to produce a breakthrough, with the families demanding the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the deadly attack. Although government representatives have assured the protesters that their concerns will be addressed, the sit-ins remain in place.

The bodies of eight police personnel are still being kept in a container near the protest site, while other victims have already been laid to rest in Ziarat and Sanjavi.

The demonstrations follow the deadly attack in the Mangi area of Ziarat on July 7, in which 30 police personnel were killed. The incident prompted authorities to intensify security operations across Balochistan in an effort to track down those responsible and prevent further violence.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in militant attacks in several regions in recent months, prompting security forces to expand intelligence-based operations. Officials say efforts will continue in coordination with provincial law enforcement agencies to strengthen security, protect civilians and maintain stability across the province.
