According to railway officials, the decision was taken to facilitate maintenance on a section of the railway track that requires immediate repairs. Authorities said train services would resume once the work is completed and the track is declared safe for regular operations.
As part of the suspension, the departure of the Jaffar Express from Quetta to Peshawar scheduled for today has been cancelled. Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express traveling from Peshawar to Quetta will terminate at Jacobabad instead of completing its journey to the provincial capital.
Railway authorities said passengers affected by the cancellation will be entitled to full refunds for their tickets. Officials advised travelers to contact railway reservation offices or relevant booking platforms to claim refunds or obtain updated information regarding future departures.
The temporary suspension is expected to inconvenience passengers, particularly those traveling between Balochistan and other parts of the country. However, officials stressed that the maintenance work is necessary to improve track conditions and ensure safe and uninterrupted train services in the future.
