Two policemen embraced martyrdom when unidentified assailants opened fire on them at a security barrier. According to police sources, armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on two policemen posted at Brosser Colony Road near Gharo, killing them on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after the incident. Upon receiving information about the incident, police contingent reached the scene. In this regard, eyewitnesses said that when an attempt was made to stop the suspects riding a motorcycle, the suspects opened fire directly at the police officers. They said that after killing the officials, the accused also took their weapons with them. The bodies of the two martyred officials were shifted to Rural Health Centre in Gharo. Police said that both officers were recently posted at Gharo police station after being transferred and were on routine duty.
