Chairman Senate, Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, paid rich tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on the occasion of her birth anniversary describing her as a courageous democratic leader whose unwavering commitment to democracy, constitutional supremacy, and the rights of the people continues to inspire generations. Chairman Senate said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto rendered historic sacrifices for the restoration and strengthening of democracy in Pakistan. He noted that her vision for a progressive, tolerant, and democratic Pakistan remains a guiding force for the nation. Her struggle against dictatorship and her dedication to public service have secured her an enduring place in the country’s political history. Reflecting on the significance of her birth anniversary falling during the sacred month of Muharram, Senator Gilani stated that Muharram reminds us of the timeless values of sacrifice, steadfastness, and standing firm in the face of adversity.
