Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has expressed readiness to hold talks with the federal government, marking a potential step toward political engagement between the two sides. The development came during a National Assembly session where PTI leaders responded to recent dialogue offers from the prime minister.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the party welcomes Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation for negotiations. He questioned the delay in initiating talks and stressed that meaningful dialogue requires timely engagement between political stakeholders.
He also said the party has requested access to its founder as part of the negotiation process. According to him, political tensions in the assembly could be reduced if both sides agree to improve communication and adopt a cooperative approach.
Barrister Gohar criticized the atmosphere in the National Assembly, saying it lacked constructive dialogue between government and opposition members. He added that strengthening democratic institutions requires mutual understanding and formal agreements between political parties.
The development comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation for talks to PTI earlier this month, opening the door for renewed political dialogue between the ruling coalition and the opposition party.
