CM Punjab Complaints Cell holds open court to address public issues

Published on: June 13, 2026 6:55 AM

On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a team of the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell reached Bahawalpur and organized an open court (Khuli Katcheri) to address public grievances and ensure prompt resolution of citizens’ issues.

Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell, Saima Farooq, listened to complaints from citizens and issued immediate directives for their resolution. Complaints received during the open court related to the Revenue Department, Police, Health, Education, Sanitation and Sewerage services.

Speaking on the occasion, Saima Farooq said that public relief was being provided in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

She emphasized that all applications would be continuously followed up and that the authorities would not rest until the issues were resolved. She termed open courts an effective mechanism for the prompt resolution of public grievances.

The open court was held at Ghotoi Hall, Abbasia Campus of the The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

A total of 328 applications were received by the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell, including more than 90 related to the Revenue Department, while approximately 250 pertained to other government departments.

The Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, District Police Officer (DPO) and other relevant officials attended the event. Directions were issued for immediate action on all complaints received during the proceedings.

Saima Farooq further stated that negligence in addressing public complaints would not be tolerated and that legitimate grievances would not be ignored. She added that regular monitoring of applications would ensure tangible relief for citizens.

Bahawalpur Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that all public applications would be processed in a transparent manner. Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza said that timelines had been assigned to officers for resolving complaints received during the open court.

The Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell open court resulted in practical measures aimed at ensuring the swift resolution of citizens’ issues.
