Masoud Pezeshkian vows Iran will resist external pressure

Published on: June 10, 2026 5:36 PM

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed his country’s determination to defend its sovereignty, declaring that no external power can force Iran into submission through threats, intimidation, or coercion. Speaking in Tehran, he rejected any suggestion that pressure campaigns could weaken the country’s resolve, stressing that Iran remains committed to protecting its national interests.

Pezeshkian said those who believe Iran can be brought to surrender are mistaken and underestimate the nation’s resilience. He stated that Iran is prepared to face any challenge with confidence, patience, and determination, adding that the country will not accept aggression or attempts to undermine its independence under any circumstances.

At the same time, the Iranian president emphasized that war serves no country’s interests and should be avoided whenever possible. However, he maintained that Iran would not retreat if conflict were imposed upon it. He also accused outside forces of trying to create tensions between Iran and Arab nations, arguing that such efforts have failed to achieve their objectives.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian claimed that regional dynamics are gradually changing, with some countries reassessing their relationships and strategic priorities. According to him, these developments are contributing to shifts in regional diplomacy and creating new opportunities for dialogue and cooperation across the Middle East.

The president also highlighted the importance of diplomacy in addressing regional and political disputes. He said Iran’s leadership, including the Supreme Leader, continues to support negotiations aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability. Pezeshkian noted that regular consultations among senior leaders play a key role in shaping policies on major national and international issues.

In addition, Pezeshkian stressed the need for internal unity as Iran faces economic and political challenges. He argued that national solidarity remains essential for maintaining stability and overcoming difficulties, while also claiming that adversaries continue attempting to create divisions within the country. He urged citizens to remain united in support of the nation’s long-term goals and security.
