Doctors treating acid attack victim Dr Mah Noor have ruled out the need for any major surgical procedure at this stage, hospital sources said, adding that her treatment is progressing according to plan.
Dr Mah Noor, who was injured in an acid attack in Quetta, is currently receiving specialised medical care in Karachi. According to hospital officials, reconstructive surgeons have carried out minor skin grafting procedures to aid her recovery and will continue performing routine treatment as required.
Sources said a team of specialists, including reconstructive surgeons and eye experts, conducted a comprehensive medical examination of the victim for the third time on Tuesday. The assessment reviewed injuries sustained to her face, the outer areas of her eyes, lips and nose.
Hospital authorities stated that no major surgery has been performed and none is currently planned. Instead, doctors are focusing on gradual treatment and recovery through minor reconstructive procedures and continuous monitoring of her condition.
Medical teams have also carried out various diagnostic tests to evaluate the extent of the injuries and determine the most suitable course of treatment. Earlier reports indicated that Dr Mah Noor’s eyesight remains intact and that she is fully conscious.
According to hospital sources, her family has expressed satisfaction with the medical care being provided. Officials from both the Governments of Balochistan and Sindh are said to be in regular contact with the victim and her relatives to monitor her recovery and provide support.
The attack on the young doctor sparked widespread concern and condemnation, with calls for strict action against those responsible. Authorities have continued investigating the incident while ensuring that the victim receives specialised treatment.
Doctors remain optimistic about her recovery and say ongoing medical procedures are aimed at minimising the long-term effects of the injuries.
