The Rock responds to viral joke about his shampoo brand

Published on: June 6, 2026 1:55 PM

Hollywood star and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson has responded with humor after a social media influencer questioned how the famously bald actor could successfully sell shampoo and conditioner products.

The lighthearted exchange began when TikTok creator Katy Napier shared a video showing products from Johnson’s personal care brand, Papatui, displayed on store shelves. In the clip, she pointed out that hair care products were being marketed alongside a life-size image of Johnson, who is widely recognized for his bald appearance.

The influencer jokingly told viewers never to give up on their dreams because if The Rock could sell shampoo despite having no hair, anything was possible. The video quickly gained traction online, attracting millions of likes and sparking widespread discussion across social media platforms.

Rather than taking offense, Johnson embraced the joke and responded directly. Sharing a reaction video, the actor appeared in character as Maui from the upcoming live-action adaptation of Moana, complete with long flowing hair.

In the caption accompanying his post, Johnson admitted that the video made him laugh out loud. He playfully remarked that even a demigod with impressive hair needs shampoo and conditioner from time to time. Maintaining the humorous tone, he also revealed that he planned to send a small gift to the influencer.

The exchange was widely praised by fans, many of whom commended Johnson for responding with good humor and self-awareness. Social media users described the interaction as a positive example of celebrities engaging with online criticism in a friendly and entertaining way.

Papatui, Johnson’s grooming and personal care brand, launched in 2024 and offers a range of products designed for men’s skincare, body care and hair care needs. The brand has continued to expand its presence in retail stores while benefiting from Johnson’s global popularity and strong social media following.
