Saudi delegation explores Pakistan investments

Published on: June 5, 2026 1:45 AM

A high-level Saudi business delegation visited Islamabad on Thursday to explore investment opportunities across major sectors of Pakistan’s economy. The visit matters because it could boost foreign investment, economic growth, and infrastructure development. Businesses, investors, and key industries in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia stand to benefit from deeper economic cooperation.

The delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House. Senior Pakistani officials, including ministers responsible for finance, communications, power, petroleum, and information technology, also attended the meeting. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral economic cooperation and identifying new investment opportunities.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s desire to transform its relationship with Saudi Arabia into a strategic economic partnership. He recalled Prince Mansour’s previous visit to Pakistan and voiced optimism that the current trip would lead to agreements and memorandums of understanding in multiple sectors. The premier also conveyed his regards to Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Prince Mansour thanked the Pakistani government for its hospitality and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening business-to-business engagement. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Saudi delegation showed interest in investment opportunities related to ports, highways, airport outsourcing, energy, power distribution, and information technology. Pakistani officials welcomed interest in these sectors and highlighted additional opportunities in agriculture and food security.
