Chairman of the University of Management and Technology (UMT) and former Provincial Minister, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, held an important meeting with Ali Dar, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Special Initiatives, at the Office of AI and Special Initiatives Punjab. The meeting focused on a wide range of issues related to artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, digital transformation, innovation, and future economy in Punjab.
The discussion also covered strategies for enhancing the digital capabilities of young people, promoting future-oriented education, strengthening research activities, and accelerating technological advancement. Both sides agreed on the importance of fostering effective collaboration among government institutions, universities, and industry stakeholders to advance AI initiatives and equip the younger generation with globally competitive skills.
During the meeting, Ibrahim Hasan Murad emphasized that the effective use of modern technology can significantly improve development processes, public service delivery, and governance systems. He stated that artificial intelligence, research, and innovation are fundamental pillars of future growth and that coordinated efforts are essential to harness their full potential.
He further noted that strong partnerships between government, academia, and industry are crucial to transforming Punjab into a regional hub for artificial intelligence and digital transformation. “Equipping young people with advanced digital skills through meaningful collaboration in education, research, and technology is imperative so they can play a leading role in national development and the emerging knowledge-based economy,” he said.
Ali Dar highlighted that, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, practical and impactful measures are being implemented to promote economic growth, technological advancement, and innovation across the province. He stated that efforts are underway to bring together all relevant stakeholders on a unified platform to accelerate AI adoption and digital transformation, creating new opportunities for growth, prosperity, and employment.
He added that stronger linkages between universities, industry, and government institutions can not only foster research, innovation, and technological progress but also open new avenues for employment, entrepreneurship, and professional development for young people.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in education, research, artificial intelligence, digital skills development, and emerging technologies, with the shared goal of positioning Punjab as a center of knowledge, innovation, and technological excellence.
