Ghazi Ghori contributed 37 runs, while Arafat Minhas added 33. However, Pakistan’s batting line-up struggled against disciplined Australian bowling. Muaz Sadaqat was dismissed without scoring, while Abdul Samad managed two runs and Sahibzada Farhan made three.
Senior batters also failed to make significant contributions. Babar Azam scored 16 runs, Salman Ali Agha made seven, and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi added 11 before being dismissed.
Australia’s bowling attack was led by Nathan Ellis, who claimed four wickets and played a key role in restricting Pakistan’s chase. Matthew Short also impressed with the ball, taking three wickets at crucial stages of the innings.
Earlier, Australia posted 231 for nine in their allotted 50 overs after being asked to bat first by Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Cameron Green top-scored with 53 runs, while Australian captain Josh Inglis contributed 51. Matt Renshaw added a valuable 43 runs to help Australia build a competitive total.
Pakistan’s bowlers performed well for much of the innings. Shaheen Shah Afridi led the attack with three wickets, while Arafat Minhas, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed picked up two wickets each.
After winning the toss, Shaheen had opted to field first, expressing confidence that the pitch would assist spinners and help Pakistan restrict Australia to a manageable total.
