
Kaja Kallas arrived in Pakistan on Monday for an official visit aimed at strengthening relations between Pakistan and the European Union and advancing cooperation on key regional and international issues.

The visit comes at the invitation of Ishaq Dar and highlights the continued engagement between Islamabad and Brussels at the highest diplomatic levels.

During her stay, Kallas and Dar will co-chair the 8th session of the Pakistan-European Union Strategic Dialogue, the principal forum for high-level discussions between the two sides. The dialogue serves as a platform to review bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in areas including trade, investment, security, climate action and regional stability.

The EU official is also scheduled to meet Pakistan’s senior leadership, including Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, during her visit.
Pakistan and the European Union maintain a longstanding partnership based on economic cooperation, diplomatic engagement and support for multilateral institutions. The EU remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners, while cooperation has expanded over the years to include development assistance, education, climate initiatives and governance reforms.
Officials view the visit as an important opportunity to further deepen ties and discuss regional developments as well as global challenges requiring coordinated responses. The strategic dialogue is expected to cover a broad agenda focused on enhancing political cooperation and strengthening economic relations.
The visit also reflects the growing momentum of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and the European Union in recent years. Both sides have repeatedly expressed their commitment to expanding collaboration and building a stronger partnership based on shared interests and mutual respect.
