France has banned Israeli Minister Ben Gvir from entering the country, marking a significant diplomatic move amid growing international criticism over recent events involving activists traveling to Gaza. French officials said the decision reflects increasing concern about actions and statements linked to Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced the measure and said it was influenced by the treatment of members of a flotilla that attempted to reach Gaza. He noted that the issue has generated strong reactions from governments and human rights advocates around the world.
In a post on the social media platform X, Barrot stated that Itamar Ben Gvir is now prohibited from entering French territory. The announcement quickly drew attention across Europe and added to ongoing debates over responses to developments related to Gaza.
